"Lessons I’ve Learned Running a Business."

Updated: Sep 1

Starting a business is one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys I’ve ever taken. Throughout the process, I encountered challenges, made necessary adjustments, and gained valuable insight that shaped my path forward. Whether you’re just getting started or dreaming about taking the leap, I want to share a few lessons that have shaped my journey and kept me going.

1. Put God First in Everything You Do

This has been the foundation of my business and my life. I’ve learned that when you put God first, you approach challenges with a deeper sense of purpose and peace. Trusting in Him gives clarity during uncertainty and strength when things get tough. Faith isn’t just a part of the journey—it’s the foundation.

2. Never Give Up. Stay Positive

My dad always said: “Can’t never could do anything.” It reminds me that the only real failure is not trying. There were times I was tempted to give up, when things didn’t go as planned or doors closed unexpectedly. But every stumbling block taught me something valuable. And every small win reminded me why I started.

If you have a dream—chase it. Be persistent. Even if things don’t work out the way you imagined, you’ll never have to wonder “what if?”

3. Surround Yourself with Positive, Like-Minded People

Your environment matters. The people you spend time with can either fuel your dreams or drain them. I've learned to protect my mindset by surrounding myself with positive, driven, and honest individuals—many of whom are smarter than me and don’t sugarcoat advice.

Negative people can’t see your vision, and that’s okay—but don’t let their doubt become your reality. At the end of the day, it’s your life, your business, and your decision.

4. Dream Big

Need I say more? If your dreams don't scare you a little, they're probably not big enough. Big dreams stretch your imagination, test your courage, and push your limits.

Building a business is never just about money—it’s about growth, impact, and purpose. These lessons didn’t come from a textbook. They came from experience, faith, failure, and the relentless pursuit of a dream. If you’re on this journey, I hope my story reminds you that you’re not alone—and that it’s always worth it to believe in something bigger than yourself.

Keep going. Keep dreaming. And never stop learning.
